Letzte Woche berichteten wir Euch von dem Interview mit Tyler Hoechlin, das Collider mit ihm geführt hatte. Doch das war noch nicht alles, denn seitdem sind vier weitere Interviews veröffentlicht worden.
Holland Roden, die Lydia spielt und ihr Junior-Jahr auf der Highschool beginnt, erzählt von der Freizeit. Nachdem nun nämlich Jackson, ihre große Liebe gestorben ist, muss das Mädchen ihre Zeit nun anders einteilen. “In dieser Staffel ist sie sehr gut mit Stiles befreundet.” Zwischen ihr und Stiles würde eine aufrichtige Freundschaft entstehen, erzählt Holland. Mit Allison und Stiles verbringe sie von nun an sehr viel Zeit. Es sei jetzt ein Dreier-Bündnis: “Dieses kleine Trio versucht jetzt die Werwolf-Welt zu retten.”
Als Werwolf Scott tritt Tyler Posey in der Serie in Erscheinung und auch er spricht über die zwischenmenschlichen Veränderungen in Beacon Hills und wie Scott mit den neuen Leuten zurecht kommen wird: “Scott wird von nun an viel mit den neuen Charakteren in dem Alpha-Rudel zu tun bekommen.” Das Alpha-Rudel wäre eine große Bedrohung für ihn, Derek und alle anderen. Scott versuche friedlich damit umzugehen. Er würde zu ihnen gehen und sagen ‘Okay, ich möchte nicht kämpfen. Ich möchte nicht, das jemand stirbt. Können wir nicht über die Dinge reden? Geht das?’ “Das ist die Mentalität von Scott”, meint Tyler.

The film also stars Oblivion’s Olga Kurylenko and Danila Kozlovski. Mead’s best-selling books tell the tale of Rose Hathaway, a teen who has a mental and spiritual bond with her vampire best friend Lissa. The two attend a special school for vampires who are attempting to keep some of their humanity while other of their species are becoming more wild. Fans of Richelle Mead's fangtastic "Vampire Academy" series have been bloodlusting after news regarding the big-screen adaptation ever since the rights were optioned by Preger Entertainment way back in the summer of 2010. Now—finally!—there's some forward motion on the long-gestating project.
"Heathers" writer Daniel Waters has finished a script for the movie!
"Dan has written a brilliant screenplay for "Vampire Academy," producer Don Murphy wrote. "Smart and funny, clever and really a great read—it is going to make a terrific film."
Though probably best-known for the teen dramedy, Dan was also a screenwriter on "Batman Returns," "Hudson Hawk" and "Demolition Man."
For the uninitiated, "Vampire Academy" introduces best friends Rose Hathaway (a Dhampir) and Lissa Dragomir (a Moroi), who through a twist of fate become "shadow-kissed," leaving them telepathically bound to one another. The six-part series follows Rose and Lissa through all manner of life-threatening circumstances, punctuated by love, loss and political intrigue. We, for one, can't wait to see this engrossing tale brought to the big screen.

First announced back in 2010, Richelle Mead's hit book series Vampire Academy is headed to the big screen. Today, Deadline announces that Mean Girls director Mark Waters has signed on to direct the first film in a planned franchise with a cast that now includes Zoey Deutch, Lucy Fry and Danila Kozlovski. The title has been amended as well and the first film will now be known as Vampire Academy: Blood Sisters.
The Vampire Academy book series is a coming-of-age, action driven, "paranormal romance" fantasy. It is set in the present day against a hidden universe of vampires, half-humans, alchemy, and magic. The series centers on a strong, yet flawed, 17-year-old female who confronts her world with grit, determination, and lots of moxie. Rose Hathaway is a dhampir, half human/half vampire and guardian of the Moroi, a race of peaceful and magical mortal vampires who can walk in the daylight, survive by feeding off willing blood donors, grow old and die. Hidden deep in the forests of Montana is St. Vladimir's Academy, where Moroi and dhampirs learn to take their place in Moroi society. Rose must master her inherited abilities as a dhampir and earn the approval of the Royal Council, as guardian to Princess Lissa, her best friend and sole heir of one of the twelve Royal families of Moroi. Rose and Lissa share a mysterious psychic bond and sense of destiny, but first they must survive an intense social scene, politics and the physical challenges of Moroi life at the Academy. ‘Vampire Academy’ Film Takes Flight; Mark Waters Directing Daniel Waters’ Script
EXCLUSIVE: Hoping to tap a new vein in the young adult vampire genre that made Twilight Saga such a global hit, Reliance Entertainment and IM Global are co-financing the first installment of a new film franchise based on the six-volume Richelle Mead young adult novel series that will come to the screen as Vampire Academy: Blood Sisters. Daniel Waters, who wrote the iconic Sundance black comedy Heathers, has written the script for the first movie. His brother, Mean Girls helmer Mark Waters, will direct the film. Casting is in full swing for a summer shoot.
An international search led the producers to Zoey Deutch (Beautiful Creatures) and Australian newcomer Lucy Fry. They will play lead characters Rose and Lissa alongside Russian star Danila Kozlovski (We Are From The Future,) who will play the role of Dimitri.
The film will be produced by Michael Preger and his Preger Entertainment banner, Angry Films’ Don Murphy and Susan Montford, and Kintop Pictures’ Deepak Nayer. IM Global’s Stuart Ford is executive producer.
All six books have been bestsellers on The New York Times young adult list since the series debuted in 2007. Two of the books have been turned into graphic novels. The books tell the tale of Rose Hathaway, a seventeen year old girl who has a mental and spiritual bond with her vampire best friend Lissa. The two girls attend a special school for Vampires who struggle to retain some humanity while other Vampires become more feral.
“Tonally this so different from all these movies that are so solemn and serious,” IM Global’s Ford said. “This is as much Mean Girls as The Hunger Games. ” It is snappy irreverent, sexy and just a lot of fun. And we got the right director for that kind of movie.”
The Vampire Academy books were corralled as a film property by Miami-based Preger Entertainment. Preger is currently in development with a contemporized version of the sci-fi classic The Day Of The Triffids, with Sam Raimi and financier Good Universe. He brought the project to fellow Triffids producers Montford and Murphy and the trio partnered to bring the books to the screen.
“I was a fan of Richelle’s and have read all of her books,” Preger said. “She writes in way that is riveting no matter what your age. The key was to get people to read the books. Once they read one they want to read them all.”
They turned to Daniel Waters, looking for a tone to which teenagers could relate. His script for Heathers hit that mark so well that it’s often identified as the inspiration for anything teen that aspires to mix humor with angst and edge. Waters took on the project, and drafted his brother, who boarded the project as director.
“It was the best first draft I had ever read, and that includes other screenplays by my brother,” Mark Waters said. “This is a dream project for us, since we have wanted to work together for so long. Richelle’s mythology and the world she creates is so real and her voice so clear. These kids have real life, modern day problems. And they drink blood.” The popularity of the series was evident when they started a Facebook page for the film and got 238,000 signed up, a number much higher than a lot of films that have already been released.
At that point, Nayer, who previously produced Bend It Like Beckham, brought in Reliance and IM Global. “On a creative level we love the story and the creative team,” he said. “We also love the potential to do a series of six strong movies based on this beloved series of novels” he said. There could even be more as Mead has spun off characters from her Vampire Academy books into a second series, Bloodlines, two of which have already been released.
Reliance will finance the film and sister company IM Global’s Ford is handling foreign sales and will broker domestic.

Die Dreharbeiten für die 2.Staffel von Wolfblood – Verwandlung bei Vollmond sind gerade beendet wurden, schon gibt es neue News zur TV-Serie.
Der Disney Channel hat die Senderechte gekauft. Somit wird die Kinder-TV-Serie auch in den USA, Lateinamerika, Mittlerer Osten, Italien, Frankreich, Russland, CEE und Benelux laufen. Auch für Deutschland gibt es eine Änderung. Der Disney Channel plant für 2014 einen Free-TV-Sender. Bei SuperRTL sind sie jetzt schon Joint-Venture-Partner. Inwiefern sich das auf den Sendeplatz von Wolfblood auswirkt oder nicht, wird man sehen.

Letzte Woche berichteten wir Euch von dem Interview mit Tyler Hoechlin, das Collider mit ihm geführt hatte. Doch das war noch nicht alles, denn seitdem sind vier weitere Interviews veröffentlicht worden.
Holland Roden, die Lydia spielt und ihr Junior-Jahr auf der Highschool beginnt, erzählt von der Freizeit. Nachdem nun nämlich Jackson, ihre große Liebe gestorben ist, muss das Mädchen ihre Zeit nun anders einteilen. “In dieser Staffel ist sie sehr gut mit Stiles befreundet.” Zwischen ihr und Stiles würde eine aufrichtige Freundschaft entstehen, erzählt Holland. Mit Allison und Stiles verbringe sie von nun an sehr viel Zeit. Es sei jetzt ein Dreier-Bündnis: “Dieses kleine Trio versucht jetzt die Werwolf-Welt zu retten.”
Als Werwolf Scott tritt Tyler Posey in der Serie in Erscheinung und auch er spricht über die zwischenmenschlichen Veränderungen in Beacon Hills und wie Scott mit den neuen Leuten zurecht kommen wird: “Scott wird von nun an viel mit den neuen Charakteren in dem Alpha-Rudel zu tun bekommen.” Das Alpha-Rudel wäre eine große Bedrohung für ihn, Derek und alle anderen. Scott versuche friedlich damit umzugehen. Er würde zu ihnen gehen und sagen ‘Okay, ich möchte nicht kämpfen. Ich möchte nicht, das jemand stirbt. Können wir nicht über die Dinge reden? Geht das?’ “Das ist die Mentalität von Scott”, meint Tyler.

Mit seinen Serien-Ausstrahlungen am Samstag ist RTL II immer noch nicht wirklich glücklich geworden, die Einschaltquoten der «Warehouse 13»-Marathons lagen in den vergangenen Wochen stets unter dem Senderschnitt. Trotzdem möchte RTL II am Samstag als Serien-Tag festhalten und startet deswegen am 27. Juli die US-Serie «Teen Wolf» als Deutschlandpremiere. Von ihr sollen ab dann immer samstags zur besten Sendezeit um 20.15 Uhr gleich drei Folgen am Stück laufen.
Und darum geht es in der Serie: Scott McCall (Tyler Posey) und sein bester Freund Stiles (Dylan O’Brien) suchen nachts im Wald nach einem vermissten Mädchen. Dabei wird Scott von seinem Freund getrennt und von einem Werwolf angegriffen und gebissen. Bereits am nächsten Tag entdeckt Scott, dass sich sein Körper verändert. Die tiefe Bisswunde ist über Nacht verheilt. Scott ist unter anderem stärker und schneller geworden...
Die Serie kommt übrigens von MTV – dort waren die ersten beiden Staffeln so beliebt, dass die Bestellung einer dritten Staffel nicht lange auf sich warten ließ; sie ist seit Juni dieses Jahres zu sehen. Für die neueste Runde wurde erstmals auch die Episodenzahl von 12 auf 24 aufgestockt.
Etwas ungewöhnlich ist es allerdings, dass «Teen Wolf» seine TV-Premiere hierzulande nicht beim Muttersender MTV feiert, sondern bei RTL II. Denn andere Dramaserien vom Musiksender wie «Awkward» oder «The Hard Times of RJ Berger» wurden sonst stets zuerst bei MTV im Originalton, und dann später in einer deutschen Fassung bei VIVA ausgestrahlt.
Dylan O’Brien Talks TEEN WOLF Season 3, the Chances of Stiles Finding Love, If He Wishes His Character Would Turn, Dramatic Scenes, and More
Developed by Jeff Davis, the hit MTV drama series Teen Wolf has returned for a super-sized, 24-episode third season. Having picked up four months after the events that nearly ended Jackson’s (Colton Haynes) life and resurrected Peter Hale (Ian Bohen), Season 3 finds teen werewolf Scott McCall (Tyler Posey) and his friends Stiles (Dylan O’Brien), Lydia (Holland Roden) and Allison (Crystal Reed) beginning their junior year of high school while having to deal with a new threat has arrived in Beacon Hills – a deadly pack of Alpha werewolves intent on bringing Derek (Tyler Hoechlin) into their fold.
With the filming relocated to Los Angeles, Collider was invited to check out the set and chat with the cast for a series of exclusive interviews. While hanging out in his trailer on a break from shooting, actor Dylan O’Brien talked about where Stiles is at in Season 3, Stiles and Lydia teaming up, the chances of Stiles actually finding love, where he stands with both Scott and Derek, whether he wishes someone would turn Stiles into a werewolf, how much fun he’s had constantly learning new things about his character, and how nervous he gets about pulling off the dramatic side of the show. Collider: Where is Stiles at, in Season 3?
DYLAN O’BRIEN: Stiles is focusing more on himself, and he’s trying to better himself. And he’s focusing more on his detective work. He considers himself an expert on the wolf stuff now.
Now that Lydia (Holland Roden) knows about what’s going on, is it fun to have that shift in dynamics, with her relationship with Stiles?
O’BRIEN: It was so sad when Lydia didn’t know about any of the werewolves, or anything. Lydia was in the dark for so long, as were a lot of people, but she was left in the dark so much longer than anyone else. Now, she’s finally a part of things. With us and our relationship, it becomes more of a team thing, working together, and not so much always about the love, even though that’s still there, on one side. And she loves me, in a way. So, it’s cool to see that dynamic change. It’s cool to see Stiles and Lydia pull together, and Lydia come to the group. She’s also really useful because of how smart she is. It’s good to have her involved.
Do things ever get awkward between them, or is he okay with the way things are with Lydia?
O’BRIEN: I think it’s always been a little awkward. What’s always been awkward is the unreciprocated love. Now, it’s at a point where it’s not awkward. He’s made peace with loving her, and not necessarily having that love returned.
Is there any chance that Stiles will find love that’s actually returned?
O’BRIEN: Yeah, there always is, on this show. And there definitely is, this season.
Where are things at with Scott (Tyler Posey) and Stiles’ friendship, at this point?
O’BRIEN: I don’t know if you could say things are stronger than ever, right now, but the strength of their brotherhood is still there and will always be there. This season, they definitely take an even further route from each other than they have, in previous seasons. It’s all getting so crazy that it could be getting to the point where something comes between them, but we haven’t gotten there yet.
How are things between Stiles and Derek (Tyler Hoechlin)?
O’BRIEN: They’re fine. It is what it is with them. They accept each other, despite their annoyance towards one another. Even if they don’t directly care, their connection through Scott leads them to ultimately care for each other’s well-being. They wouldn’t want to see the other one get hurt, for Scott’s sake. That’s always their connection.
Do you have much interaction with the new characters?
O’BRIEN: There’s no one new this year that I really have a lot of stuff with. The twins are there, but I don’t have many scenes with them. I don’t really have any storylines with the new characters, which is really funny. I’m just on a totally different show, sometimes. I’ll show up on set and see [Tyler] Hoechlin and [Tyler] Posey and Daniel [Sharman], and they’ll all say, “Oh, hey, what are you doing today?” And I’ll be like, “I’m shooting this scene, over here. You guys doing wolf stuff?” They’re like, “Yeah. I didn’t even know you were working,” and I’m like, “Yeah.”
Do you ever wish that someone would turn Stiles into a werewolf?
O’BRIEN: No. I totally love my part on the show. I equally also love seeing the other parts of the show that I never get to be there for, on set. I get to see it, after it’s all come together. There are multiple new actors that we have, this year, that I haven’t seen a wink of, and they’ve been on the show for three months already. I enjoy getting to see the rest of the episode, once it’s come together. You’ve gotta enjoy what you can, when you’re not involved in the wolf business. You’ve gotta take what you can, and be happy with it.
Has it been fun to get to play Stiles for an extended period of time, and always learn new things about him?
O’BRIEN: That’s such a good question. That’s something that’s really fun about being on a show that’s running, season after season. You have this character that you’ve played since the pilot, and then you’ve taken it, as it goes. All these different storylines get thrown at you. You don’t write the show, so you just have to interpret things as your character, and see how your character would go through it or how it would be handled. It’s interesting, working on a character for so long. I’ve played this one character, over the course of three years, and I’ve learned so much about him. I’m always learning about him, and I’m always coming up with new things. You read the episodes and you just know exactly what your character would be thinking, for every beat, and how he’d feel about everything. It’s amazing, and perpetually challenging because you never know what’s going to come, in the next episode.
It’s really been good for me, too, because this is really the one steady acting gig I’ve ever had, and it was my first acting gig, so it’s really been one giant acting school for me. I’m so thankful to have it because I would not be able to progress, any other way. I didn’t grow up acting, and I didn’t go to school for it. I’m not trained. I feel like I’ve needed that time to learn how to do it, in some way. I remember doing a play one time and thinking that it was such a good learning experience. It’s such a good way to be on your feet and act, every day, and not have to stop after about two minutes. You do a full 40 minutes, and you’re just in it. That was really cool, too. I love acting so much because I know I’ll never know it, inside and out. I’ll just always be trying to know it, as best as I can.
Are there any storylines that have been most surprising to you?
O’BRIEN: I don’t necessarily expect any of the things that are thrown at me. But when I read them, I just know that I have to do them, so I start figuring out how to interpret it. Nothing has been particularly jarring. I’m still learning how to act. I started very comedically. I never trained in any acting, other than just joking around and doing my own dinky little videos. And I’m the comic relief on the show, but we need all of those other layers, too. So, the dramatics is really what I’ve had to work on and really do, for the first time, ever. Over the course of three years, I’ve been working on it. It’s always been the thing that I’m hesitant towards or scared of, just because it’s intimidating and I’m an anxious person. It’s not something that I’ve mastered doing, in any way, or been taught how to do. I just have to try it on the fly. Sometimes I’m happy with it, and sometimes I’m not, at all. But, I’m getting a lot better with it. I’m more comfortable with it. When the Season 1 finale came up, the whole thing was drama and I remember just being really scared. I was excited because I thought they were awesome scenes, but I was like, “Jesus Christ, I’m probably going to suck at this.” But, you just do it and learn and try to get better at it. I just hope that I’m getting better, every day. That’s the goal.

RTL2 macht momentan Promotion für die Ausstrahlung des US-Hits Teen Wolf.
In Amerika ist die Mysteryserie Teen Wolf längst DER Hit auf MTV und derzeit läuft dort die dritte Staffel. Jetzt gibt es gute Nachrichten für deutsche Fans:
Ab dem 27. Juli 2013 wird die Serie nämlich zur Primetime um 20:15 Uhr auf RTL 2 in Deutsch ausgestrahlt werden!
Scott McCall (Tyler Posey) und sein bester Freund Stiles (Dylan O’Brien) suchen nachts im Wald nach einem vermissten Mädchen. Dabei wird Scott von seinem Freund getrennt und von einer mysteriösen Kreatur angegriffen und gebissen.
Bereits am nächsten Tag entdeckt Scott, dass sich sein Körper verändert. Die tiefe Bisswunde ist über Nacht verheilt. Scott ist stärker und schneller geworden. Er hört plötzlich Dinge, die andere nicht hören. Tiere geraten in seiner Nähe in Panik. Eine unsichtbare Macht scheint die Kontrolle über ihn zu gewinnen.
Doch Scott hört nicht auf die Warnungen von Stiles, der vermutet, dass sein Freund von einem Werwolf gebissen wurde. Denn er hat sich bis über beide Ohren in die attraktive neue Schülerin Allison Argent (Chrystal Reed) verliebt, nicht wissend, dass sie einer Familie von Werwolfjägern entstammt.
Dann kommt die erste Vollmondnacht. Scott muss erkennen, dass sein neues Leben auch ungeahnte Nachteile mit sich bringt. Es kann sehr gefährlich werden, in seiner Nähe zu sein, wenn sein Blut in Wallung gerät und seine animalischen Instinkte die Oberhand gewinnen.

House of Night Fans werden wissen, dass im Umschlag eines jeden Buches ein Poster versteckt ist. Jetzt wurde das Poster für die englische Ausgabe des 11. Bandes Revealed enthüllt.
Die ersten drei Folgen der Mysteryserie brachten dem Sender am Abend die gewohnte Quotentristesse im Abendprogramm ein. «Nikita» tat sich jedoch zu späterer Stunde wieder ähnlich schwer.
Mit der Entscheidung, «Warehouse 13» am hart umkämpften Samstagabend zu zeigen, hat sich RTL II zuletzt keinen Gefallen getan. Nicht eine der seit Ende April zeigten Episoden kam auf sechs Prozent Marktanteil beim werberelevanten Publikum, maximal waren gerade einmal mickrige 5,8 Prozent drin. An schlechteren Tagen lief es jedoch auch angesichts von nicht einmal mehr vier Prozent jedoch zum Teil schlicht desaströs. Somit dürften die Anforderungen des Senders an sein neues Format «Teen Wolf» nicht die allergrößten gewesen sein - und dennoch geriert der Abend zur großen Enttäuschung.
So kam die allererste Folge der US-Mysteryserie auf gerade einmal 0,50 Millionen Zuschauer, die einem Marktanteil von 2,4 Prozent beim Gesamtpublikum entsprachen. In der jungen Zielgruppe wurden hier 5,1 Prozent bei 0,34 Millionen erzielt. Im weiteren Verlauf des Abends steigerte sich die Serie leicht auf 2,5 und 2,9 Prozent aller sowie 5,3 und 5,7 Prozent der 14- bis 49-jährigen Konsumenten bei maximal 0,65 Millionen Serienfans. Auch unter Berücksichtigung der starken Konkurrenz in Form von König Fußball und der generell mickrigen Werte des Privatsenders am Samstagabend hätte der Start doch etwas besser verlaufen können.
Auch im Anschluss daran gab es keinerlei Quotenglück für die Sendeanstalt, denn der große Flop «Nikita» ging mit einer weiteren Doppelfolge auf Sendung. Die Folgen 15 und 16 taten sich gewohnt schwer, bei 0,54 Millionen Interessenten stieg der Anteil am Gesamtmarkt zunächst auf nach wie vor miese 3,2 Prozent, bevor er bei akzeptablen 3,8 Prozent lag. Beim Zielpublikum war die Serie nur für katastrophale 4,0 und 4,1 Prozent zu haben, hier sahen maximal 0,27 Millionen Menschen zu.
Recht zufrieden konnte man hingegen mit der Performance des Kultfilms «Zurück in die Zukunft III» sein, der um 17:40 Uhr abermals aufgeführt wurde. Immerhin 0,57 Millionen Menschen waren an der 23 Jahre alten Science-Fiction-Komödie interessiert, dies entsprach 4,2 Prozent des Gesamtpublikums. Bei den Menschen zwischen 14 und 49 Jahre stand eine Reichweite von 0,38 Millionen zu Papier, hiermit einher gingen sehr gute 8,6 Prozent Marktanteil.
Nachdem der Grünwalder Sender Ende Juli die erste Staffel der Fantasy-Serie ins Rennen schickte, zeigt RTL II nun auch Staffel zwei.
Am 27. Juli debütierte die Fantasy-Serie «Teen Wolf» von 2011 bei RTL II und wurde seitdem immer samstags zur Primetime in Dreierfolgen ausgestrahlt. Die Show, etwa im Stile von «Twilight», dreht sich um einen etwas eigenartigen Teenager, der einem Werwolfsangriff zum Opfer fällt und daraufhin selbst diesem Fluch zu Teil wird. Die MTV-Serie, die von MGM Television produziert wird, umfasst mittlerweile schon drei Staffeln mit insgesamt 48 Folgen (zwölf in Staffel eins, zwölf in Staffel zwei, 24 in Staffel drei). Nun hat das Format es RTL II auch endgültig angetan.
Denn trotz nicht gerade zufriedenstellender Quoten in den ersten sechs Folgen seit Ende Juli hält der Grünwalder Sender an «Teen Wolf» fest. Gestartet war «Teen Wolf» enttäuschend mit einem Gesamtpublikum von 500.000 Menschen zur besten Sendezeit an einem Samstag. Am selben Abend konnte man freilich keine Steigerung erwarten - diese folgte aber in der Woche darauf, als man am 3. August in der Zielgruppe den Senderschnitt erreichte. Die Verantwortlichen gehen wohl davon aus, dass der Aufwärtstrend anhält und entschlossen sich nun auch die zweite Staffel auf dem gleichen Sendeplatz zu zeigen und nahtlos an den ersten Durchlauf anzuknüpfen.
Dementsprechend feiert die zweite Season von «Teen Wolf» am Samstag, dem 24. August um 20.15 Uhr wie gewohnt im Dreierpack seine Free-TV-Premiere. Diese zweite Staffel dreht sich im Wesentlichen um den neuen Alpha Derek und seinen Versuch ein neues Rudel zu gründen, sowie um Lydias Erholung von der Attacke durch Peter Hale, die mit Nebenwirkungen wie Halluzinationen einhergeht. Derek und Scott müssen außerdem schweren Herzens eine Allianz eingehen, um sich einer neu erscheinenden, mordenden Kreatur gegenüberzustellen.

Modern Family‘s Sarah Hyland and Vikings’ Gabriel Byrne will now also be sinking their teeth into the movie based on the books by Richelle Mead. Byrne will play Victor, one of the leaders of the Academy while Hyland will play Natalie, Victor’s daughter and the best friend of the lead Rose and Lissa characters. Lucy Fry and Zoey Deutch have already been announced as Lissa and Rose. The Girl With The Dragon Tattoo’s Joely Richardson and Dominic Sherwood have also joined the film. Richardson will play Queen Tatiana, leader of the Moroi Vampires. Sherwood will be playing Christian, Lissa’s love interest. These latest cast additions come on the heels of the announcement last week that Sami Gayle (Blue Bloods), Cameron Monaghan (Shameless), Ashley Charles (White Buffalo) and Claire Foy (White Heat) had joined the ensemble cast. The film also stars Oblivion’s Olga Kurylenko and Danila Kozlovski. Mead’s best-selling books tell the tale of Rose Hathaway, a teen who has a mental and spiritual bond with her vampire best friend Lissa. The two attend a special school for vampires who are attempting to keep some of their humanity while other of their species are becoming more wild. Filming on Vampire Academy is scheduled to start next week. Byrne is repped by Paradigm. Hyland is repped by WME and RKM and attorney Lev Ginsburg.

'Vampire Academy' Movie Moves Forward With Screenwriter, Script
Fans of Richelle Mead's fangtastic "Vampire Academy" series have been bloodlusting after news regarding the big-screen adaptation ever since the rights were optioned by Preger Entertainment way back in the summer of 2010. Now—finally!—there's some forward motion on the long-gestating project.
"Heathers" writer Daniel Waters has finished a script for the movie!
"Dan has written a brilliant screenplay for "Vampire Academy," producer Don Murphy wrote. "Smart and funny, clever and really a great read—it is going to make a terrific film."
Though probably best-known for the teen dramedy, Dan was also a screenwriter on "Batman Returns," "Hudson Hawk" and "Demolition Man."
For the uninitiated, "Vampire Academy" introduces best friends Rose Hathaway (a Dhampir) and Lissa Dragomir (a Moroi), who through a twist of fate become "shadow-kissed," leaving them telepathically bound to one another. The six-part series follows Rose and Lissa through all manner of life-threatening circumstances, punctuated by love, loss and political intrigue. We, for one, can't wait to see this engrossing tale brought to the big screen.
Die Bücher über die Vampire Acadamy von der Autorin Richelle Mead waren bereits vor Jahren schon im Gespräch verfilmt zu werden. Jetzt ist man einen Schritt weiter, denn laut der Facebook Seite zum geplanten Film hätte der Drehbuchautor laut der Ausage von Produzent Don Murphy (produzierte u.a. Transformers) “ein brilliantes Drehbuch für die Vampire Acadamy geschrieben. Pfiffig und witzig, clever und wirklich toll zu lesen – es wird ein toller Film.”

First announced back in 2010, Richelle Mead's hit book series Vampire Academy is headed to the big screen. Today, Deadline announces that Mean Girls director Mark Waters has signed on to direct the first film in a planned franchise with a cast that now includes Zoey Deutch, Lucy Fry and Danila Kozlovski. The title has been amended as well and the first film will now be known as Vampire Academy: Blood Sisters.
The Vampire Academy book series is a coming-of-age, action driven, "paranormal romance" fantasy. It is set in the present day against a hidden universe of vampires, half-humans, alchemy, and magic. The series centers on a strong, yet flawed, 17-year-old female who confronts her world with grit, determination, and lots of moxie. Rose Hathaway is a dhampir, half human/half vampire and guardian of the Moroi, a race of peaceful and magical mortal vampires who can walk in the daylight, survive by feeding off willing blood donors, grow old and die. Hidden deep in the forests of Montana is St. Vladimir's Academy, where Moroi and dhampirs learn to take their place in Moroi society. Rose must master her inherited abilities as a dhampir and earn the approval of the Royal Council, as guardian to Princess Lissa, her best friend and sole heir of one of the twelve Royal families of Moroi. Rose and Lissa share a mysterious psychic bond and sense of destiny, but first they must survive an intense social scene, politics and the physical challenges of Moroi life at the Academy. Outside the sanctuary of St. Vladimir's waits their greatest threat of all, the Strigoi, a race of bloodthirsty immortal vampires and predators of the Moroi.

‘Vampire Academy’ Film Takes Flight; Mark Waters Directing Daniel Waters’ Script
EXCLUSIVE: Hoping to tap a new vein in the young adult vampire genre that made Twilight Saga such a global hit, Reliance Entertainment and IM Global are co-financing the first installment of a new film franchise based on the six-volume Richelle Mead young adult novel series that will come to the screen as Vampire Academy: Blood Sisters. Daniel Waters, who wrote the iconic Sundance black comedy Heathers, has written the script for the first movie. His brother, Mean Girls helmer Mark Waters, will direct the film. Casting is in full swing for a summer shoot.
An international search led the producers to Zoey Deutch (Beautiful Creatures) and Australian newcomer Lucy Fry. They will play lead characters Rose and Lissa alongside Russian star Danila Kozlovski (We Are From The Future,) who will play the role of Dimitri.
The film will be produced by Michael Preger and his Preger Entertainment banner, Angry Films’ Don Murphy and Susan Montford, and Kintop Pictures’ Deepak Nayer. IM Global’s Stuart Ford is executive producer.
All six books have been bestsellers on The New York Times young adult list since the series debuted in 2007. Two of the books have been turned into graphic novels. The books tell the tale of Rose Hathaway, a seventeen year old girl who has a mental and spiritual bond with her vampire best friend Lissa. The two girls attend a special school for Vampires who struggle to retain some humanity while other Vampires become more feral.
“Tonally this so different from all these movies that are so solemn and serious,” IM Global’s Ford said. “This is as much Mean Girls as The Hunger Games. ” It is snappy irreverent, sexy and just a lot of fun. And we got the right director for that kind of movie.”
The Vampire Academy books were corralled as a film property by Miami-based Preger Entertainment. Preger is currently in development with a contemporized version of the sci-fi classic The Day Of The Triffids, with Sam Raimi and financier Good Universe. He brought the project to fellow Triffids producers Montford and Murphy and the trio partnered to bring the books to the screen.
“I was a fan of Richelle’s and have read all of her books,” Preger said. “She writes in way that is riveting no matter what your age. The key was to get people to read the books. Once they read one they want to read them all.”
They turned to Daniel Waters, looking for a tone to which teenagers could relate. His script for Heathers hit that mark so well that it’s often identified as the inspiration for anything teen that aspires to mix humor with angst and edge. Waters took on the project, and drafted his brother, who boarded the project as director.
“It was the best first draft I had ever read, and that includes other screenplays by my brother,” Mark Waters said. “This is a dream project for us, since we have wanted to work together for so long. Richelle’s mythology and the world she creates is so real and her voice so clear. These kids have real life, modern day problems. And they drink blood.” The popularity of the series was evident when they started a Facebook page for the film and got 238,000 signed up, a number much higher than a lot of films that have already been released.
At that point, Nayer, who previously produced Bend It Like Beckham, brought in Reliance and IM Global. “On a creative level we love the story and the creative team,” he said. “We also love the potential to do a series of six strong movies based on this beloved series of novels” he said. There could even be more as Mead has spun off characters from her Vampire Academy books into a second series, Bloodlines, two of which have already been released.
Reliance will finance the film and sister company IM Global’s Ford is handling foreign sales and will broker domestic.

'Vampire Academy' Movie Moves Forward With Screenwriter, Script
Fans of Richelle Mead's fangtastic "Vampire Academy" series have been bloodlusting after news regarding the big-screen adaptation ever since the rights were optioned by Preger Entertainment way back in the summer of 2010. Now—finally!—there's some forward motion on the long-gestating project.
"Heathers" writer Daniel Waters has finished a script for the movie!
"Dan has written a brilliant screenplay for "Vampire Academy," producer Don Murphy wrote. "Smart and funny, clever and really a great read—it is going to make a terrific film."
Though probably best-known for the teen dramedy, Dan was also a screenwriter on "Batman Returns," "Hudson Hawk" and "Demolition Man."
For the uninitiated, "Vampire Academy" introduces best friends Rose Hathaway (a Dhampir) and Lissa Dragomir (a Moroi), who through a twist of fate become "shadow-kissed," leaving them telepathically bound to one another. The six-part series follows Rose and Lissa through all manner of life-threatening circumstances, punctuated by love, loss and political intrigue. We, for one, can't wait to see this engrossing tale brought to the big screen.

'Vampire Academy' Movie Moves Forward With Screenwriter, Script
Fans of Richelle Mead's fangtastic "Vampire Academy" series have been bloodlusting after news regarding the big-screen adaptation ever since the rights were optioned by Preger Entertainment way back in the summer of 2010. Now—finally!—there's some forward motion on the long-gestating project.
"Heathers" writer Daniel Waters has finished a script for the movie!
"Dan has written a brilliant screenplay for "Vampire Academy," producer Don Murphy wrote. "Smart and funny, clever and really a great read—it is going to make a terrific film."
Though probably best-known for the teen dramedy, Dan was also a screenwriter on "Batman Returns," "Hudson Hawk" and "Demolition Man."
For the uninitiated, "Vampire Academy" introduces best friends Rose Hathaway (a Dhampir) and Lissa Dragomir (a Moroi), who through a twist of fate become "shadow-kissed," leaving them telepathically bound to one another. The six-part series follows Rose and Lissa through all manner of life-threatening circumstances, punctuated by love, loss and political intrigue. We, for one, can't wait to see this engrossing tale brought to the big screen.

Mark Waters to Direct Vampire Academy: Blood Sisters

First announced back in 2010, Richelle Mead's hit book series Vampire Academy is headed to the big screen. Today, Deadline announces that Mean Girls director Mark Waters has signed on to direct the first film in a planned franchise with a cast that now includes Zoey Deutch, Lucy Fry and Danila Kozlovski. The title has been amended as well and the first film will now be known as Vampire Academy: Blood Sisters.
The Vampire Academy book series is a coming-of-age, action driven, "paranormal romance" fantasy. It is set in the present day against a hidden universe of vampires, half-humans, alchemy, and magic. The series centers on a strong, yet flawed, 17-year-old female who confronts her world with grit, determination, and lots of moxie. Rose Hathaway is a dhampir, half human/half vampire and guardian of the Moroi, a race of peaceful and magical mortal vampires who can walk in the daylight, survive by feeding off willing blood donors, grow old and die. Hidden deep in the forests of Montana is St. Vladimir's Academy, where Moroi and dhampirs learn to take their place in Moroi society. Rose must master her inherited abilities as a dhampir and earn the approval of the Royal Council, as guardian to Princess Lissa, her best friend and sole heir of one of the twelve Royal families of Moroi. Rose and Lissa share a mysterious psychic bond and sense of destiny, but first they must survive an intense social scene, politics and the physical challenges of Moroi life at the Academy. Outside the sanctuary of St. Vladimir's waits their greatest threat of all, the Strigoi, a race of bloodthirsty immortal vampires and predators of the Moroi.
Deutch, who stars in the upcoming Beautiful Creatures, will play Rose with newcomers Fry as Lissa and Kozlovski as Dmitri.
Susan Montford, Don Murphy, Deepak Nayer and Michael Preger will produce with Stuart Ford executive producing.
‘Vampire Academy’ Film Takes Flight; Mark Waters Directing Daniel Waters’ Script
EXCLUSIVE: Hoping to tap a new vein in the young adult vampire genre that made Twilight Saga such a global hit, Reliance Entertainment and IM Global are co-financing the first installment of a new film franchise based on the six-volume Richelle Mead young adult novel series that will come to the screen as Vampire Academy: Blood Sisters. Daniel Waters, who wrote the iconic Sundance black comedy Heathers, has written the script for the first movie. His brother, Mean Girls helmer Mark Waters, will direct the film. Casting is in full swing for a summer shoot.
An international search led the producers to Zoey Deutch (Beautiful Creatures) and Australian newcomer Lucy Fry. They will play lead characters Rose and Lissa alongside Russian star Danila Kozlovski (We Are From The Future,) who will play the role of Dimitri.
The film will be produced by Michael Preger and his Preger Entertainment banner, Angry Films’ Don Murphy and Susan Montford, and Kintop Pictures’ Deepak Nayer. IM Global’s Stuart Ford is executive producer.
All six books have been bestsellers on The New York Times young adult list since the series debuted in 2007. Two of the books have been turned into graphic novels. The books tell the tale of Rose Hathaway, a seventeen year old girl who has a mental and spiritual bond with her vampire best friend Lissa. The two girls attend a special school for Vampires who struggle to retain some humanity while other Vampires become more feral.
“Tonally this so different from all these movies that are so solemn and serious,” IM Global’s Ford said. “This is as much Mean Girls as The Hunger Games. ” It is snappy irreverent, sexy and just a lot of fun. And we got the right director for that kind of movie.”
The Vampire Academy books were corralled as a film property by Miami-based Preger Entertainment. Preger is currently in development with a contemporized version of the sci-fi classic The Day Of The Triffids, with Sam Raimi and financier Good Universe. He brought the project to fellow Triffids producers Montford and Murphy and the trio partnered to bring the books to the screen.
“I was a fan of Richelle’s and have read all of her books,” Preger said. “She writes in way that is riveting no matter what your age. The key was to get people to read the books. Once they read one they want to read them all.”
They turned to Daniel Waters, looking for a tone to which teenagers could relate. His script for Heathers hit that mark so well that it’s often identified as the inspiration for anything teen that aspires to mix humor with angst and edge. Waters took on the project, and drafted his brother, who boarded the project as director.
“It was the best first draft I had ever read, and that includes other screenplays by my brother,” Mark Waters said. “This is a dream project for us, since we have wanted to work together for so long. Richelle’s mythology and the world she creates is so real and her voice so clear. These kids have real life, modern day problems. And they drink blood.” The popularity of the series was evident when they started a Facebook page for the film and got 238,000 signed up, a number much higher than a lot of films that have already been released.
At that point, Nayer, who previously produced Bend It Like Beckham, brought in Reliance and IM Global. “On a creative level we love the story and the creative team,” he said. “We also love the potential to do a series of six strong movies based on this beloved series of novels” he said. There could even be more as Mead has spun off characters from her Vampire Academy books into a second series, Bloodlines, two of which have already been released.
Reliance will finance the film and sister company IM Global’s Ford is handling foreign sales and will broker domestic.

Nun wurde die Schulleiterin von St. Vladimir´s Academy gecastet. Sie wird von Olga Kurylenko gespielt. Die Schauspielerin war erst kürzlich an der Seite von Tom Cruise in Oblivion zu sehen.
