Nicht nur für die Stars der Twilight-Saga geht in diesen Tagen eine Ära zu Ende, auch „Breaking Dawn 2″-Regisseur Bill Condon verlässt das Vampir-Abenteuer mit einem lachenden und einem weinenden Auge. Am Wochenende veröffentlichte er einen offenen Brief an die Fans, den er im Flieger nach Berlin verfasste.
„Es ist schwer zu glauben, dass nach unserer Berlin-Premiere heute Abend, meine Twilight-Reise endgültig zum Ende kommt“, schreibt Condon. „Ich bin sehr stolz auf das, was wir gemeinsam geschaffen haben und ich hoffe, dass Teil 2 eure Erwartungen an das große Finale erfüllt.“
„Noch einmal vielen Dank dafür, dass ihr mich wie ein Mitglied der Fangemeinde fühlen lasst…dafür, dass ihr in San Diego in einer Reihe geschlafen habt, um mit uns in Halle H lachen zu können…dafür, dass ihr große Distanzen gereist seit, um uns in L.A. zu begleiten.“
Weiter bedankte sich Bill Condon dafür, dass die Twi-Hards ihm das Vertrauen schenkten und erklärte, dass sie versucht haben, die Leidenschaft der Fans in jedes Detail mit einzubringen.
Er glaubt nicht, dass der sich jemals von der Schande reinwaschen kann, dass er beim Dreh von Edwards und Bellas Honeymoon, den Verlobungsring vergessen hatte. „Aufgrund von Fotos, die Bella und Edward auf ihrer Hochzeitsreise zeigen und sofort online gepostet wurden, wurden wir in Echtzeit für das Fehlen eines gewissen Verlobungsringes zur Rede gestellt. Noch mal Sorry!“
„Was ich von meiner Zeit in Forks mitnehme, sind so viele tolle Freundschaften – unser massiver Cast von talentieren Schauspielern und neue kreative Partner wie Melissa Rosenberg, Guillermo Navarro und Phil Tippett. Ich hoffe, sie auch noch über Jahre hinweg zu kennen und mit ihnen wieder arbeiten zu können. Nach der L.A. Premiere am Montag sagte Phil, wir sollten einen ‘blutigen, gigantischen Monsterfilm’ machen. Aber ist dabei Raum für eine Musical-Nummer? – In alle Ewigkeit, Bill.“
Bislang geben die Fans ihr Bestes, ihren Teil zum Erfolg von Breaking Dawn 2 beizutragen. In dieser Woche soll auch die Nummer 1 in den deutschen Kinocharts stehen!

Ende der letzten Woche bahnte es sich schon an, jetzt ist es amtlich – „Breaking Dawn 2″ ist die neue Nummer 1 der deutschen Kinocharts!
Von Donnerstag bis Sonntag lockten die Filmvampire Edward (Robert Pattinson), Bella (Kristen Stewart) und Jacob (Taylor Lautner) über 1,26 Millionen Fans in die Kinos. Hinzu kommen etwa 410.000 Zuschauer aus den Vorpremieren, was Franchise-intern den besten Kinostart eines Twilight-Films bedeutet.
Breaking Dawn 2 beendete damit auch den Siegeszug vom neuesten James Bond Abenteuer „Skyfall“, das sich mit insgesamt über 6 Millionen Zuschauern jetzt auf Platz 2 wiederfindet.
Der letzte Film der Twilight-Saga läuft in 760 deutschen Kinos und auf 900 Leinwänden. Alle Teile zusammen sahen schon 14 Millionen deutsche Fans. Ein toller Abschluss einer beispiellos erfolgreichen Filmreihe.
Weltweit spielte Breaking Dawn 2 bereits über eine halbe Milliarde US-Dollar ein. Der genaue Stand beläuft sich auf aktuell $577,7 Millionen, bei einem Budget von etwa $170 Millionen. Die Chancen stehen also gut, dass BD2 auch noch die Zahlen des bisherigen (internen) Rekordhalters „New Moon“ ($709 Mio.) knackt.

Twilight introduced us to Bella Swan and Edward Cullen, and the enticing love story that would blossom between them. Bella came so far from those first scenes where we saw her leaving her mom and the beloved Arizona desert behind. Seeing her amongst the soggy citizens of Forks made her seem even more out of place, but by the time we see her in the final film, she has become everything she never was: a mother, a wife, and a strong, confident, graceful woman.
arc was compelling because we could see the obvious influence that Bella had on him. In the beginning, he struggled with everything: his craving for Bella’s blood, his longing to be with her, and his insatiable need to protect her. No one will deny that Edward took a few turns down the wrong path, but Breaking Dawn sees him back on track. His confidence in Bella and his love for his family drive him to do anything in his power to keep them safe.
Poor Jacob probably had to endure the most out of the three. He began as just a normal boy, not quite content that his feelings for Bella went unanswered, but unable to do much to convince her otherwise. Then, soon enough, he discovered his lot in life: to be a werewolf in order to protect the townspeople from vampires. Though his timing and his methods were never quite perfect, his actions always came from his heart. He learned to accept Bella’s decision, as hard as it was to bear, and in the end Jacob finds the person he was always meant to be with.
The Twilight Saga’s lasting effect
The saga’s lasting influence on its fans comes down to the effect these three characters had on all of us as we watched them change and grow as people. As fans watch Breaking Dawn Part 2 this weekend, they’ll be left with a bittersweet taste in their mouths. As the saga comes to a close, it’s been a wild ride to say the least – from the first film smashing box office records to revolutionizing the term “midnight premiere.” We’ve all transformed a bit in these last five years and whether you were a fan or not, you have to admit that these films had an enormous impact in the film industry and, more importantly, pop culture.
Countless fan sites and even new words (“twihard”) were created during this time. Fans battled between Team Edward and Team Jacob as the books were released. People lined up hours in advance for midnight screenings. As we report on casting news for 50 Shades, it’s crazy to think that this all started because of these books and the subsequent films, where a fan-fiction of the original material was also able to turn into a pop culture phenomenon.
The lasting influence is already being seen, and will continue to be seen as the credits roll this weekend on Breaking Dawn Part 2. This trio, like others before it, will remain with us. And it will continue as we see franchises like The Hunger Games and The Mortal instruments go on to succeed.

Kristen Stewart, Robert Pattinson & Taylor Lautner über das Ende von “Twilight”

Langsam neigt sich die "Twilight"-Ära dem Ende zu und die Darsteller geben die letzten Interviews zu dem Film. Wie sie sich jetzt fühlen und was sie von den sich ständig wiederholenden Fragen der Reporter halten, erfahrt ihr hier.
Gerade ist der letzte Teil der “Twilight”-Saga “Breaking Dawn 2″ auf Platz eins der deutschen Kinocharts geschossen. In vier Jahren haben die Hauptdarsteller Kristen Stewart (22), Robert Pattinson (26) und Taylor Lautner (20) fünf “Twilight”-Filme gedreht, doch jetzt ist die Geschichte auserzählt.
Im Interview mit der Bild- Zeitung sprachen die drei Schauspieler über ihre Gefühle zum Ende der “Twilight”-Ära und darüber, was sie bei den Interviews am meisten genervt hat.
Taylor Lautner fasst seine Gefühlslage folgerndermaßen zusammen: “Gerade jetzt ist es schon ein bisschen traurig, weil wir wissen, bald ist es zu Ende. Gleichzeitig ist es aber auch eine große Feier, weil wir so aufgeregt sind.”
Kristen Stewart ist ebenfalls gerührt und möchte gar nicht daran denken, dass es tatsächlich vorbei sein soll: “Allein der Gedanke daran, Fragen zum Abschied zu beantworten – das überwältigt mich einfach. Total verrückt!”
Über eine Sache freut sich die Schauspielerin jedoch sehr: Sie muss endlich nicht mehr dieselben lästigen Fragen immer und immer wieder beantworten: “Ich glaube, ich habe echt alles gesagt. Ganz ehrlich, manchmal möchte ich sagen, google es doch, ich habe es schon tausend Mal beantwortet.”
Robert Pattinson wüsste als Journalist auch nichts mehr zu fragen, denn alles sei schon gesagt: “Was ich mich fragen würde? Nichts! Nach dem Motto: Ich habe schon alles gehört, ich habe keinen Bock mehr, dich reden zu hören”, so der 26-Jährige. Doch trotzdem nimmt ihn das Ende der Ära auf jeden Fall mit: “Es fühlt sich einfach jetzt richtig an, den Schlussstrich zu ziehen. Und trotzdem wird es morgen früh beim Aufwachen ein komisches Gefühl sein, zu denken, ok, das war’s, fertig.”

Hi everyone. I hope you're all coming back from a really fabulous Thanksgiving weekend, full of quality family time, too much delicious food, and restful tryptophan comas.
Two weeks ago, while doing press for Breaking Dawn 2, there were a lot of questions I wasn't able to answer because I didn't want to spoil the ending for anyone. I promised in a couple of interviews that I would post the answer to a specific question on my website once everyone had had a chance to see the movie. Now, if there is anyone reading this who hasn't had a chance to see BD2 yet and really wants to remain unspoiled, please stop reading now.
***spoilers ahead***
The question, which I got frequently, was how I felt about having a big change inserted into the story during the final climax. My answer was that it didn't feel like such a huge departure. For me, this moment is already in the book. However, we don't get to see it in all its exciting and gory detail because we are seeing the world only through Bella's eyes. A few of the reporters I talked to wanted to know where in the book this moment was hidden. The answer is page 738, fourth paragraph down:
"Aro stared into my eyes for a long, tense moment. I had no idea what he was searching for, or what he found, but after he had measured me for that moment, something in his face changed, a faint shift in the set of his mouth and eyes, and I knew that Aro had made his decision."
In this short analysis, after Bella has revealed the depth of her power, Aro plays out in his head the probable outcome of a battle with the Cullens. Much like what we see in the movie, Aro foresees a more evenly matched fight than he had expected, the loss of too many of his key players, and—most unacceptable—the likelihood of his own death. Though odds are that the Volturi would have come out on top in the end, Aro wouldn't have lived to see it and the unassailable nature of the Volturi's authority would have been broken, possibly forever. It is this vision of the future—though imperfect guesswork on his part—that motivates his retreat.
Melissa Rosenberg and I have both mentioned the fateful dinner we had (back during the filming of Eclipse) where we hashed out a way to make the end of Breaking Dawn more cinematic. This was the idea we latched on to—how do we make this vision of Aro's into something the viewer can experience? The answer was pretty simple once we looked at it that way—we already had a character who could show us visions. So the only real change to the book ending of Breaking Dawn is that Alice enters the scene earlier, and comes in contact with Aro.
(Are there a few little trespasses against the mythology in this vision? Yes, as some of you have pointed out. The consensus was that a minor deviation from what had been established was forgivable in the name of entertainment. I had a few very elaborate solutions, but they were too confusing and not nearly as cinematic as the final product. And obviously, the result was very entertaining.)
A few reporters asked me if I would have done anything different in the battle if I had written it; the answer is yes. Mainly, I would have killed more Cullens. I do think the Volturi would have won the day; as the talented players were taken out, in the end it would be brute strength that would determine the victor, and the Volturi have more soldiers and more experience. Of course, if we had offed Edward or something, it might have been too obvious that it was a vision sequence. In the end, when the vision was revealed, the reaction I heard in the two unsuspecting audiences I viewed it with was nothing but relief and enthusiasm. Kudos to Bill C for creating the perfect emotional response! He plays our heartstrings like a virtuoso.
It was really something to get to spend a little time with the fans at the BD2 events, and to watch the movie at the premiere with so many of them. It was the best experience I've ever had at a Twilight movie, and a perfect conclusion to my personal Twilight experience. I hope you also enjoyed the movie, and each other, for this last big bang. You, the readers and viewers, are the ones who have made this whole ten-year experience into something unbelievable and amazing, and I thank you so much for it. I hope I get to see some of you again in March (shameless The Host plug), because it makes me too sad to think that my relationship with my readers is ending, too.

Der finale Film der "Twilight"-Saga ist mit einem Einspielergebnis von 5,3 Millionen Pfund weiter an der Spitze der britischen Kinocharts zu finden. Das berichtet der Onlinedienst "digitalspy.co.uk". Demnach landet der neue Bond-Film "Skyfall" klar auf der Zwei, gefolgt von "Nativity 2!". Auf Rang drei ist in dieser Woche die Komödie "Silver Linings" mit Bradley Cooper und Jennifer Lawrence in den Hauptrollen zu finden. Ebenfalls in die Top 5 schafft es die Komödie "Gambit".

The phenomenon that gave us R-Patz, imprinting and a love of all things pale, sparkly and cold finally came to an end with a bang this year. After a mammoth promotion tour, Robert Pattinson, Taylor Lautner and Kristen Stewart (in a few risqué outfits) said farewell to the franchise and its millions of fans.
Nach nur drei Wochen hat es bis zur Spitze gedauert und jetzt ist es fast soweit…“Breaking Dawn 2″ setzt zum Sprung auf die Twilight-Krone an!
Mit einem weltweiten Einspielergebnis von $702,4 Millionen krallt man sich schon in wenigen Tagen den Franchise-internen Rekord, wie heute bekanntgegeben wurde.
Der bisherige Rekordhalter war und ist zur Stunde noch “New Moon” mit $709 Millionen. Aber von diesem Gedanken kann man sich bei den immer noch sehr starken Zuschauerzahlen von “Breaking Dawn 2″ getrost verabschieden.
Auch an diesem Wochenende bissen sich die Filmvampire um Edward Cullen (Robert Pattinson), Bella (Kristen Stewart) und Wölfchen Jacob Black (Taylor Lautner) erneut auf Platz 1 ($17.4 Mio.) der US-Kinocharts fest. Auf Platz zwei landete “Skyfall” mit $17 Millionen.
Vom Ergebnis her ist BD2 in den Staaten New Moon dicht auf den Fersen. Aktuell steht es $254,6 Mllionen zu $259 Millionen. “Eclipse” und “Breaking Dawn (1)” schafften es im selben Zeitraum auf $251 Millionen.
Im Ausland sammelte der Film satte $430 Millionen ein – besser war kein anderer Teil der Verfilmungen von Stephenie Meyers Erfolgsromanen.
“Das wird der größte Twilight-Film aller Zeiten an den Kinokassen und die ausländischen Einnahmen werden die treibende Kraft sein”, erklärte Phil Contrino, der Chefredakteur von ‘Boxoffice.com’, in einem Interview. “Diese Franchise-Filme bauen sich in Übersee immer mehr auf und dann explodieren sie.”
