Kellan Lutz für " Peta2 " - bericht in englisch Kellan Lutz Sticks Up for Crustaceans
A recent PETA investigation uncovered horrific treatment of lobsters and crabs at a Linda Bean slaughterhouse in Maine. The investigative video footage shows animals being ripped apart while they’re alive and struggling. In response, thousands of compassionate people are crying out in protest—including Twilight star and animal activist Kellan Lutz.
I watched as conscious lobsters were torn apart by your employees, who then threw them into dumpsters to die slowly and painfully, treating them as if they were trash rather than living beings.
Studies have shown that all animals have the capacity to experience pain and suffering—that includes crustaceans such as crabs and lobsters.
When PETA investigated the slaughterhouse doing business as Linda Bean’s Maine Lobster, they uncovered the following: Lobsters’ heads were ripped from their bodies and dropped into bins, along with their abdomens. Their antennae and legs continued to move after their bodies had been torn apart. Workers slammed live crabs onto spikes to break off their top shells and shoved the animals’ exposed organs and flesh against rapidly spinning brushes. The crabs were then tossed onto a conveyor belt and dumped—alive—into boiling water.
Kellan Lutz vs. Linda Bean Over Lobsters: The Claws Come Out
Kellan Lutz will soon star as Hercules, and he's getting into character with a Herculean effort to save lobsters and crabs. After he saw PETA's undercover video footage showing workers at Linda Bean's Maine Lobster slaughterhouse ripping apart fully conscious lobsters and crabs and dumping them, still alive, into either boiling water or the trash to die slowly, he sent an urgent letter to the L.L.Bean heiress asking her to stop the most egregious acts of cruelty.
In his letter, Kellan pointed out that other readily available slaughter methods, such as electrical stunning or hydrostatic pressure, would quickly kill the animals before they are dismembered.
"Watching these animals writhe as their exposed internal organs were violently scrubbed off with spinning brushes made me wonder how you could possibly wait one second longer to spend a little of your profits on a machine that renders these animals unconscious prior to being processed," Kellan wrote. "Even if you can't relate to lobsters and crabs in the same way that you might to dogs or dolphins, they also deserve to be spared unnecessary agony."
You Can Help! Please help us flood Linda Bean with e-mails requesting that she switch to a far-less cruel means of slaughtering these animals. Let her know that if she is going to continue to rake in huge profits from the deaths of lobsters and crabs, it seems like the least that she can do.
Robert Pattinson fast nicht in "Twilight"? Kellan Lutz lehnte "Edward"-Rolle ab
"Twilight" ohne Robert Pattinson? Unvorstellbar!

Kellan Lutz im Interwiev mit " MTV " UK / England - Interwiev in englisch Kellan Lutz: Twilight Boredom Made Me Buff
Hunky actor reveals he used movie down time to tone up his physique...
12:16, Thursday, 30 January 2014
Kellan Lutz has revealed that boredom while filming the Twilight movies led him to develop his buff physique.
The actor, who played Emmett Cullen in the hugely successful movie saga, appears on the cover of the latest edition of Men's Health magazine.
And the 28-year-old revealed that he used his down time during shooting to hit the gym.
"I was bored. They put us in these mall apartment complexes - the fans and paparazzi were outside the whole time. So I bunkered down in the gym; it was my escape."
He also revealed that his subsequent role in 2011's Immortals - in which he played Poseidon - changed his approach to eating.
"For Immortals, we all had dieticians. Every hour they'd hand you eight almonds or a plate of spinach."
Ans he admitted this sometimes makes him a pain in restuarants.
"Just ask if they have salmon and avocado and if they mind throwing together a salad for you. It's being deliberately ignorant, but it works."
Now starring in The Legend Of Hercules, Kellan admits he's keen to see Dwayne Johnson's rival movie Hercules: The Thracian Wars.
For me, I'm obsessed with mythology movies, and I wish there was a plethora of these movies, I'd watch 'em all!
"I'm just excited that our movies are different and that there are multiple stories of Hercules being told. The Rock's is quite different. It's the Thracian Wars, which are the older stories of Hercules. This is the origin, so it sets it up."
The full interview appears in the March issue of Men's Health, on sale this Friday and also available as a digital edition. http://www.menshealth.co.uk/
