Anna Kendrick Couldn't Penetrate Johnny Depp's 'Famous Force Field' During 'Into The Woods' According to the actress, Meryl Streep's singing is worth a lot of money.

You might expect movie stars to be used to the encountering other famous actors and actresses, but that's not always the case. It certainly wasn't the case with Anna Kendrick on the set of "Into the Woods," Disney's upcoming adaptation of the Stephen Sondheim musical.
When MTV News spoke with Kendrick at the Sundance Film Festival, where she was promoting her new movie "Happy Christmas," she described encounters with two uber-famous actors, Johnny Depp and Meryl Streep.
While she didn't get to see Depp sing, Kendrick did meet him — and his "famous force field" — in the recording studio.
"I didn't see Johnny sing. I met him in the recording studio and ran away from him because he's that kind of famous that you're like, 'Oh my God. I'm repelled,' " she said. "It's like 'You have a famous force field.' He's obviously incredibly sweet, but I was like, 'I should not be in this room.' "
Kendrick did manage to catch queen of the Academy Awards Meryl Streep belting on the set, which was apparently worth a large sum of cash.
"I got to be on set for watching Meryl sing 'Last Midnight,' which is her kind of swan song, I guess. It was so intense," Kendrick said. "James Corden, who is in that scene with me pointed out that you could auction off watching Meryl Streep sing 'Last Midnight' and raise so much money. We just got to be there. We're just the goons who got to be in the room, which was incredible."
The experience on the set of a big-budget musical like "Into the Woods" was the polar opposite to what Kendrick went through on "Happy Christmas," which was an indie in every sense of the word.
"Joe [Swanberg] texted me the day after we wrapped 'Drinking Buddies' about making this movie, and I was immediately and completely on board. This one was different in that we had even less money, believe it or not. But that was really fun," she said. "We were shooting on film, so all the money was really for that. We shot it in his house. Everybody wore their own clothes and did their own hair and makeup.... It made 'Drinking Buddies' feel like it was 'Mission: Impossible 5.' "
"Into the Woods" is scheduled to open in theaters on December 25.

With three films at this year's Sundance Film Festival, Anna Kendrick may be the busiest actress in Park City—especially since all three projects premiered the same night: Joe Swanberg's Happy Christmas, Marjane Satrapi's The Voices, and Jeff Baena's Life After Beth. We caught up with the 28-year-old—an Oscar nominee for 2009's Up in the Air—the day after a late-night dance party to celebrate. GQ: When was the last time you cried? When we wrapped [upcoming film] IntotThe Woods in December. I play Cinderella. [Director] Rob Marshall is probably the world's kindest human being, and anytime somebody wrapped, no matter how large or small their role, he made this amazing speech in front of the whole crew. Playing Cinderella had been such a giant responsibility and intricate challenge—how do you bring emotional honesty and realness to a character from a fairy tale?! I'm a pretty sensitive person, especially when I'm in front of a crowd—I should never be allowed to give a speech at a wedding, obviously. And Rob was just so generous and complimentary. I got all misty-eyed and could barely keep my shit together. I just kept thinking, Don't cry, don't cry, don't cry.
How are you, really? At this moment, super-tired. Yesterday was an amazing day, because all three of my films premiered. Then last night, I went into full-on dance party mode. We combined our Happy Christmas and Life After Beth parties and all anyone wanted to do was dance. So I've literally got blisters on my feet.
What's your best dance move? I just bounce a lot. I'm like a fucking bunny. I don't know if that's an official dance move but let's call it that—Miss Bounce-A-Lot.
How are things going overall? I feel a little restless right now. I hate this time of year, because you feel really busy with all of the premieres and related events, but no one is making any movies. I'm really fucking antsy, and I just want to get back to work.
When was your first kiss? I remember trying to French kiss for the first time at a Bible camp that I was sent to at age 12. I was thinking, Oh no, this is a mess. I don't know if I'm going to be able to deal with this for my entire adult life. At first it was a struggle to nail the mechanics of it, but at some point I figured it out.
What's the title of your autobiography? Vertically Challenged. I'm only 5'2".
What's the most interesting thing you've ever found? One morning I woke up and found a note I'd written to myself when I was drunk, but my handwriting was such gibberish, I was never able to decipher it. It made me crazy not to be able to read whatever thought I'd had that felt so urgent that I'd had to write it down.
What's a hard decision you've had to make? Which house to buy. I was house-hunting for a year, and that was super-stressful. Anybody who's ever bought a house knows.... You want to find a place that has a good vibe, but it's hard because there are creepily aggressive realtors everywhere, and you might feel like, Oooh, this house has a bad vibe, and then you realize, Wait, it's just the fuckers in here being creepy. It took a while for me to get past that.
How often do you go to the dark side? It's a constant struggle, my friend. I have to work on projecting positivity, because while I like being sarcastic and I like sarcastic people, that's only one aspect of my personality. There are times when I can have sincere, unironic love for stuff, too.
Who is one of your favorite people? [Life After Beth co-star] Aubrey Plaza. I did the movie with her because she asked me to do it. I think the way she phrased it was, "Hey, I'm about to be in a zombie movie—do you want to fight me in it?" And I was obviously way into that.
She's a fun person to experience new things with, because she's one of those people who's just really unapologetic about who she is, and I think that's really admirable, because I'm constantly trying to make sure that everyone else feels comfortable. I'm always like, Okay, what's the tone of the room? What's this person's vibe? How do I fit in?!
Do you have any nicknames? Mostly people go for "Banana," which I actually like. You'd think I'd find it annoying, but I think it's super-cute. And "AK-47," because of my initials. I like that one, too.
Are you pro- or anti-karaoke? I was anti until I made Happy Christmas, and the [Joe] Swanberg crew took me out for karaoke. I finally got what it was all about. I'd never realized what a big deal the art of choosing a karaoke song was. At first, I chose some bad ones and everything was mediocre. But then I did TLC's "Waterfalls" and it was a big hit.
Between flight and invisibility, which would you choose? Totally invisibility! Anyone who says flying is a fucking liar. Invisibility is just so much more practical. You can go for a walk naked. You can do anything you want! And I think it would be amazing to be able to witness the world as a fly on the wall, and observe people when they believed no one else was watching.
As far as flying goes, I mean, what are you even doing? It's cool and everything, but why not just go skydiving? Everybody would be asking you for rides all the time. Total garbage.
Okay, speed round. What are some of your favorite movies? The Women, from 1939. Wet Hot American Summer. And Hot Fuzz.
If you had a theme song, what would it be? "Brick House" by the Commodores.
Any tattoos? Ever thought about getting one? No and no.
Daniel Craig or Sean Connery? I'm having fun just picturing the both of them.
In what era of history would you like to go on vacation? The 1970s. Anytime before then was generally crappy for women. Actually, my dream would be to go to Woodstock in August of '69.
Who are you, really? I'm a tiny dormouse in the body of a person.
What makes you the happiest? Sugar. I'd love to say something deeper, but let's be honest: sugar. Fruit tarts and crème brûlée.
What do you want in life? What do you hope for? I hope I always win at scavenger hunts.
Finally, what is your must humbling moment? Recently, I met my good friend's eight-year-old daughter, and she said, "Hey, I've got something to show you." I kind of knew what she was about to do, and I was right: she did "Cups" for me, and it was really sweet. Then later in the evening, she said to her younger sister, who was four, "Do you know who this lady is? She's very famous. And she's famous for one thing only." [Laughs.] I just remember how important she felt it was to explain to her little sister that I was famous for one thing only—she even held up a single finger to drive the point home. I was like, Thank you, Lord, for teaching me humility.

Anna Kendrick: Grandioser Super Bowl Werbespot, der keiner ist Keine $4 Millionen übrig?

Dass Anna Kendrick (28) lustig sein kann, dass bewies sie unter anderem schon in der Komödie „Pitch Perfect“. Jetzt ist sie in einem Super Bowl Werbespot zu sehen, der in Wirklichkeit gar keiner ist.
Die Schauspielerin sitzt in der Maske und philosophiert über einen Spot für die Biermarke Newcastle Brown Ale, der angeblich nie zustande kam.
„Ich war wirklich aufgeregt, eine Super Bowl Werbung mit Newcastle zu machen, aber es stellte sich heraus, dass sie weder das Geld noch die Erlaubnis haben, einen Super Bowl Spot zu drehen. Sie können noch nicht einmal das Wort ‚Super Bowl‘ sagen“, scherzte Kendrick.
„Ich war überrascht, dass mir der Part überhaupt angeboten wurde. Weil ich mich nicht selbst als Werbe-Babe sehe. Ich meine, ich bin heiß, aber nahbar und heiß. Heiß für die Art von Typen, die sich schlecht dabei fühlen, ein Mädchen als heiß zu bezeichnen. Bierwerbung-heiß, bin ich heiß genug für eine Bierwerbung?“
Zum Schluss rührte Anna Kendrick für ihren nicht vorhandenen Brötchengeber trotzdem noch kräftig die Werbetrommel…nicht.
„Hi…Newcastle Brown Ale ist das einzige Bier, das mir jemals eine bezahlte Rolle in einem Super Bowl Werbespot versprach und sich dann in der letzten verdammten Sekunde zurückzog, wie eine Horde Schwänze. Das ist total mies.“
Während der Clip natürlich nur eine Gag-Promotion für das Unternehmen war, so ist trotzdem ein Fünkchen Wahrheit dran. Wer mit seinem Clip bei einem der weltweit größten Sportereignisse dabei sein will, der muss für 30 Sekunden läppische $4 Millionen berappen. Dafür haben die Herrschaften nun ein virales Video, dass schon mehr als 1,1 Millionen Mal bei Youtube angeklickt wurde. Geld gespart!

Universal Unveils 2015 Release Dates & Synopses for PITCH PERFECT 2, CRIMSON PEAK, and EVEREST; Also Slates OUIJA, WALK AMONG THE TOMBSTONES, More
Universal Pictures has announced a slew of release dates for some of its upcoming films, unveiling the first synopses for some highly anticipated pics (including the latest from Guillermo del Toro) in the process. Briefly:
•As Above, So Below – From Legendary Pictures, the psychological thriller directed by John Erick Dowdle (Quarantine) will open August 15, 2014.
•A Walk Among the Tombstones – The Liam Neeson/Dan Stevens thriller directed by Scott Frank will hit theaters September 19, 2014.
•Ouija – Universal’s adaptation of the popular board game produced by Michael Bay is slated for October 24, 2014.
•Everest – Director Baltasar Kormakur’s (2 Guns) survival drama starring Jason Clarke, John Hawkes, and Jake Gyllenhaal will be released in 3D and IMAX 3D February 27, 2015.
•Pitch Perfect 2 – The music-centered sequel, directed by Elizabeth Banks, will be aca-released May 15, 2015.

PITCH PERFECT 2 The Barden Bellas are back in PITCH PERFECT 2, the follow-up to summer 2012’s smash hit. The comedy will be helmed by Elizabeth Banks, co-star and producer ofPitch Perfect, and produced by Paul Brooks, Max Handelman and Banks. Writer Kay Cannon returns to the team to pen the next chapter.

Wie erwartet werden die "Pitch Perfect"-Stars Anna Kendrick und Rebel Wilson auch für die Fortsetzung wieder vor der Kamera stehen. In "Pitch Perfect 2" gibt Elizabeth Banks, die auch schon die Idee zum ersten Teil hatte und eine Nebenrolle übernahm, ihr Regiedebüt und wird auch wieder als sarkastische Moderatorin Gail zurückkehren.
Nachdem wir vergangene Woche bereits über das sehr wahrscheinliche Engagement der beiden berichtet haben, ist es nun offiziell: Anna Kendrick ("End of Watch") und Rebel Wilson ("Pain & Gain") werden wie bereits erwartet für "Pitch Perfect 2" wieder vor die Kameras zurückkehren. Dies bestätigte nun Universal Pictures, nachdem bisher nur bekannt war, dass Elizabeth Banks mit der Fortsetzung ihr Regiedebüt geben wird. Bei dem weltweiten Erfolg der Musical-Komödie ist es keine Überraschung, dass ein zweiter Teil folgt. "Pitch Perfect" konnte bei einem Produktionsbudget von 17 Millionen Dollar etwas über 113 Millionen Dollar einspielen. Die Musik zum Film landete mit etwa 913.000 verkaufter Exemplare auf dem ersten Platz der meistverkauften Soundtracks 2013.
Details zur Handlung von "Pitch Perfect 2" gibt es bislang leider noch nicht. Elizabeth Banks wird hierbei das Drehbuch von Kay Cannon, der auch schon beim ersten Teil dabei war, umsetzen. Als Produzenten werden neben Banks selbst Paul Brooks und Max Handelman fungieren. Ein deutscher Kinostart ist für 2015 angesetzt, ein genaues Datum ist jedoch noch nicht bekannt.
