Your character Nora Clayton is a rebel fighter. Are you as tough as her?
We were living in a Revolution world [while filming the series]; we shot in these crazy locations around Wilmington, North Carolina, where there was no phone reception. We didn’t have anything out there but each other. My character is always fighting or shooting somebody. That’s pretty much what I did 17 hours a day, six days a week. I also learnt how to build bombs, too, even though I’m not using the actual ingredients.


Seventeen hours a day? No kidding.
We literally worked non-stop. One of my fight scenes took 17 hours to film. That’s exercise! If you’re fighting eight or nine guys with a sword all day long, you’ll get some exercise out of that. It isn’t weight-lifting, but it’s good exercise.


Looks like you’re ready for the apocalypse. What do you have in your go-bag?
I didn’t have anything until I started working on the show. You know what? I’m prepared now. I’ve got batteries, flashlight, clean water, cans of food, and the most important thing — a box of matches. I think I’m set for a little bit.

Revolution Recruits Soul Food's Nicole Ari Parker





Soul Food‘s Nicole Ari Parker has been tapped for a recurring role on NBC’s Revolution.

Parker will play Secretary Justine Allenford, our sister site Deadline reports.

The vague details we have right now indicate that the character is bright and a good leader.

Parker was Soul Food‘s Teri Joseph for all five seasons of the Showtime series. Her recent projects include NBC’s failed pilot The Secret Lives of Husbands and Wives and ABC’s The Deep End.

Revolution returns for its second season on Wednesday, Sept. 25, at 8/7c.
