Los Angeles - Nikki Reed hat eine eigene Schmucklinie aus dem Hause 'Mattlin Era' kreiert. Die Schauspielerin - bekannt durch ihre Rolle als Vampirmädchen Rosalie Cullen in der 'Twilight'-Reihe - hat dabei vor allem ein Anliegen: Die Stücke müssen erschwinglich sein - besonders für ihre Fans.
Am Rande der Veröffentlichung ihrer Kollektion in einem 'Fred Segal'-Store in Los Angeles sagte sie exklusiv gegenüber 'BANG Showbiz': "Ich entschied mich, mit Metall zu arbeiten, denn ich möchte, dass die Linie für meine Fans erhältlich ist.
Alles soll einen antiken Charme haben, aber die Leute sollen es sich auch leisten können. Besonders, da meine Fans jung sind." Enttäuschungen möchte die 24-Jährige damit vermeiden. Unbezahlbaren Schmuck, den man an seinen Vorbildern gesehen hat, gebe es schon genug. Reed erklärt: "Ich finde es lächerlich, wenn man Berühmtheiten mit schönen Stücken sieht, die man sich auch gerne kaufen möchte und dann herausfindet, dass diese 10.000 Dollar kosten und man niemals in der Lage sein wird, sich das zu leisten. Ich sehe dauernd solche Stücke und denke, die kann ich mir niemals leisten. Ich wollte, dass die Fans nun diese hier sehen und sie kaufen. As you know, the gorgeous Nikki Reed and 7 For All Mankind have collaborated together on a jewellery collection. We announced this a couple of days ago and you can shop the collection online at their website here. In light of the collaboration, I got the chance to interview Nikki about the collection to see how it came around, what her favourite pieces are, what she could see Rosalie wearing and more. Nikki’s really sweet and I am grateful to her for taking time out of her busy schedule to do this interview for DenimBlog!
DB: Hi Nikki, thanks for doing this interview with us here at DenimBlog! We are big fans of 7 For All Mankind, what inspired you to want to collaborate with them?
Nikki: Thank you! This collaboration came about in a really organic way. I hosted an event with 7FAM for the Step Up Women’s Network and someone who worked at 7 approached me about a piece I was wearing from my first jewelry collection (Mattlin Era). They expressed interest in me after hearing the story behind my collection, and before I knew it we were talking about working together! It has been such a wonderful experience. I have always been such a fan of theirs!
DB: How come you chose to do a jewellery line instead of denim? Nikki: My great grandmother was a jewelry designer. Ever since I was a kid, it was always something that I was interested in. I am also a huge fan of fashion, so I am definitely not against the idea of expanding and exploring other areas!
DB: What is your favourite piece you have designed from the collaboration? Nikki: At the moment I am really loving the Starry Knight necklace. I designed this piece because I wanted something to go with the denim shirts I wear on stage when Paul and I sing. So there is a special meaning behind it.
DB: Since we are a denim blog, what is your favourite 7 For All Mankind jean? Nikki: I love the skinny distressed jeans!
DB: And just for fun, what jewellery piece could you see Rosalie wearing? Nikki: Rosalie is very bold, so I feel like she would wear the Starry Knight necklace and earrings. Her strength is reflected in her style and those pieces feel very strong to me.

Nikki Reed attended an event in Dallas for the launch of her jewelry line, that she teamed with clothing brand 7 For All Mankind wearing this bold mixed separates ensemble from the brand. Her look consisted of a distressed denim, button-down shirt paired with slick black, four pocket shorts.
She styled her ensemble with leather booties, stacked bangles and a spiked necklace.
A tousled up-do and glossy pout added the final touches.

Pretty young Twilight star Nikki Reed (a.k.a. Rosalie Hale) isn't counting on the vampire saga to define her career path. The 25-year-old, award-winning actress and screenwriter has design in her blood — her great grandmother was a jewelry designer — and she launched Mattlin Era jewels last fall.
She jumped on the opportunity to collaborate with 7 For All Mankind to create a five-piece capsule collection based on the idea of love and connectivity. During a VIP event at the denim line's NorthPark store last week, Reed chatted with fashionable fans eager to snap iPhone photos with the bubbly brunette.
We stole her away for a bit to learn more about her line. In the process, we discovered a surprising bit about a popular Dallas restaurant.
Culture Map: Is this your first visit to Dallas? Nikki Reed: No, but unfortunately every time I stop in Dallas, I'm working. Last night I went to a really great restaurant, Hibiscus. It was vegan-friendly, which is awesome for me. I haven't had any extended period of time to explore the city.
CM: How did the collaboration with 7 For All Mankind come about? NR: It was very organic; it was not planned at all. I was co-hosting a dinner with them for the Step-Up Women's Network. Someone from 7FAM approached me about one of the pieces I had on from my previous collection, which I designed for my mother.
I design everything myself, which is rare for someone in entertainment, and they liked my enthusiasm. I did all of my own sketches, and someone helped me draw it to scale for the manufacturer to make the molds. It's been a wonderful experience.
CM: Do you have a favorite piece, and does it reflect your personal style? NR: Right now I like the Starry Knight necklace. I don't have anything else like this in my own jewelry closet. Because I'm doing a lot of music with my husband [musician Paul McDonald] — it's kind of folky/country — we wear a lot of denim together, and I didn't have any necklaces to wear with a buttoned-up denim shirt [which the star was sporting at the event]. So I came up with this design to layer underneath the collar. It felt unique yet subtle.
CM: You've been busy. What's next? NR: I'm going back home [Los Angeles] to start shooting a film in just a few days — Murder of a Cat. Sami Raimi is producing. It's with Greg Kinnear, Blythe Danner and Fran Kranz — who is the funniest guy on the planet.
I get in at 2 am and go straight to rehearsals. I produced a movie, Snap, that went to SXSW this year, and my husband and I sang at the festival. So I'm doing a lot of writing and writing music while I continue to design jewelry.
Hopefully other forms of design and expression will come in the future. I would also love to direct someday, so we'll see.

Last week I had the pleasure of attending the Grand Opening of the 7 for all Mankind store at The Mall at Millenia with their special event featuring the new jewelry line by actress/singer/designer Nikki Reed. The store, as you can imagine, was perfect in every way. The clothes were bright, fresh, and crisply folded and presented. It was like every item in the store was eager to show off for the grand opening. The drinks were fancy and the tunes were tight; pretty amazing shopping experience.
As if the night wasn’t already fabulous, I actually had the opportunity to speak with Nikki Reed about her new jewelry line. Admittedly, this was the first time I actually spoke with a celebrity (I’m pretty sure waving and yelling at a club, while being ignored doesn’t count). I went prepared with a few questions in my head just in case this opportunity arose. What happened when I actually started talking? All the questions went out the window. As I was getting to know her I realized all those questions were wrong. I came up with them for someone that I didn’t know but at that moment I knew her. Oddly enough, we spent the first few minutes discussing my life. I have no idea why. It was a case of reverse interview and she was asking me questions about my blog, my life, my marriage (I learned about hers too!). It soon felt like I was catching up with an old friend. But then I finally took control of the interview and moved the conversation along to more important matters – the jewelry, of course!
When I asked Nikki about the jewelry the first thing she said was that each piece had a story or special meaning. She had me at “story”. My favorite story was for the Humility Necklace, which she lovingly referred to as “my brother’s necklace” because it is based on their shared concern that bees are becoming an endangered species and their interest in bee farming to help prevent this. In essence, without bees around, there will be a serious problem with mankind surviving (read more about it here). This necklace is a tribute to celebrate and remind them of this bond. Could you ask for a more meaningful piece of jewelry?? I took home one of her other amazing pieces that I can’t wait to share with you.
